Mini Haul: The Faceshop. Cookbook!

This may be one of the best 2 weeks in 2013! Holidays and holidays! I didn't shop much but I sure ate a lot. I was in the mall to pay my phone bills (yeah, I'm not a tech savvy person) and needed to buy some skincare as my skin's dryness is at its worst!

I use lower end skincare for maintenance while reserve creams and makeup items to higher end brands. :P Hey, I don't have a choice when my skin is hypersensitive do I?

I didn't buy too many this time. Must save up even cents for my first property which is in my resolution!

The Faceshop

Special Zone Care Hand Mask. RM19.90. I haven't tried this one before. As from the past experiences with their hand masks, they do the job but the moisturizing effect didn't last more than 2 days (I tried this by not applying my daily hand cream for several days).

Special Zone Care Heel Softening Patch. RM19.90. I picked it up because my heels are just plain horrible. Sensitive, dry and flaky. First time getting this too. Hope it actually helps my heels along with my lotion!

Hyaluronic Acid Facial Sheet Mask. This was free of charge as it is my birthday gift. Boo! I'm allergic to this one. Gave them to my mom because they work wonders on her skin. Hyaluronic acid is said to moisturize the epidermis of our skin and lock up moisture of other skincares you use. I do believe it to a certain extent as my Hada Labo Gokyujun Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion is awesome!

New Zealand Volcanic Clay Blackhead Aloe Nose Strip. RM2.90. It's an okay product. Does the job but not extremely effective. It leaves a tingling sensation and I definitely hope it's not an allergic reaction! I'd consider to repurchase though because it's not harsh like some other brands.

Green Tea Phyto Powder In: Lip & Eye Makeup Remover. RM29.90. I have always used lip & eye makeup remover to remove my face makeup. It works wonders on my sensitive and combination skin. Trying this one out as my Body Shop one is running out.

This month's book pick? A recipe book of course!

One-pot Meals by Good Eating. Yes, no author. It's written by a group of food enthusiast who claimed they have tried and tested the recipes before publishing them. I have never tried making any pot-meals so I believe I should learn and be good at it. :D

Through my first flip of the whole book, it has very good introduction and is suitable for newbies.   It'll be exciting, yummy and flavoursome judging from reading the recipes. Bonus point? All the ingredients can be easily get from my nearby grocery store!

Since Mr.L will be very busy this year, I have compiled lists of hobbies and interests to spend my time with. I definitely don't wanna be the annoying gf who cannot function without her bf. I'd be pissed too if he sticks with me 24/7 with no life goals.

Time to sleep! Company dinner tomorrow! Hope it's bright enough to take decent pictures. :)
Good night humans.

Bangkok Beat Bistro. Snowflake.

Always looking forward towards weekend! What did I do on the last? Some shopping and eating with my dearest momma! We went out quite early because both of us hate the jam. By the time we reached there it was almost 11am and almost all shops were not ready for business yet. Why?

We were starving since we left the home with just a cup of milo. We were so indecisive on what we should eat and actually walked out of 2 restaurants before settling down for this! Bangkok Beat Bistro.
Mom and I LOVE Thai food! Especially those from Bangkok as they are more flavourful compared to other regions. We rarely eat Thai food since we came back from Bangkok because most of the Thai food served here is nothing compared to BKK.

Food time! Honestly, we were skeptical of the quality and taste of the food since we we aren't in Bangkok. Obviously.

First up! Seafood in Tom Yum sup! I'm really loving the clear soup because it means they did not use those tom yum paste in a jar which consists of a zillion of preservatives and  MSG. How do I know? Having sensitive skin tells you everything #blessingindisguise.

Real tom yum soup should also be clear, as learned from mom, who was taught by a Thai on preparing Thai food.

Next up, Salted fish fried rice! It was extremely flavouful and fragrant. If only they diced the salted fish into tiny pieces because it was too thick I was afraid I might die from high blood pressure on the spot. Do try to mix the sambal because it was uh-mae-zing! The weird thing is the more you eat the tastier it gets. What drug is this?

Finishing it off with a cup of coffee.

Did you get to use their cute pink coaster?

After we did some shopping, we headed to Snowflake to have some dessert.

I've been dying to try the Ocharyo for quite some time. I wasn't impressed. :( Though I have to give them props for using real ocha powder. Exactly the same one I got from Japan.

Mom had the touhua series with 3 toppings. She said it was delish!

Didn't take any selca so posting my gorgeous mom's photos instead. I cannot love Pavilion enough for everything (except their ridiculous parking charges)! Always looking forward to their festive deco!

Getting ready for work! Till next time.

The Social, Bangsar. Amadeus Bistro and Bar.

Hello mid-twenties! To be honest I don't feel like I'm a year older. Pretty sure I've felt the same for the past 5 years or so. haha

So my birthday celebration started with going for a dinner at The Social, Bangsar. Actually he recommended another place in Menjalara but I was whining too much he had to give in. Poor man. :X The food was pretty good I have to say.

Appetizer: Chili Fries

I had a simple one for the main dish and a glass of juice.

Lamb Shank

He had a medium rare steak and a glass of Merlot.

We ended the night with a walk around Bangsar Village and he sent me home like a gentleman does.  :)

On the day of my birthday, it's time to celebrate with my family! Wish my man could be here but due to him just came back from an outstation conference, I think he should get some rest.

I actually have been hunting for new restaurant to try. Amadeus Bistro & Bar caught my eye while I was browsing the internet.

As starter, we had Crispy Salt & Pepper Calamari.

Time for our main dish! I had Simone’s Fish-e-Tarian Friend.

Dad had Schmikel’s Duck Confit.

Mom chose Marco's Chicken Scnitzel.

The rest of the day ended with jokes and laughter.

It was a good start for 2013 and also an older me.

Good night. :)
