Zun Kitchenette. Ampang Pasar Yeong Tau Foo.

Nothing is greater than spending the weekend with people closest to you. I always look forward to spending time with Mr. L or my family outside. I'm a homely person but I still want to go out because the outside world is just full of yummy food! Even eating in dai pai tong makes me happy! #easilycontented

Our brunch started with me bringing Mr.L to my favourite restaurant near my house, The Zun Kitchenette.
Finally I get to pay! hahahaha He always pays for EVERYTHING to the point that I feel bad and guilty. Although he always tell me it's okay. So when he agreed, I was overjoyed! : D

I love this place mainly because of their healthy food. They use Eu Yan Sang's products to prepare their dishes mainly because the restaurant is own by EYS.

I tried out their Fragrant Lotus Rice. RM10.80. The fragrant was really noticeable and the name fits this dish very well. Everything was very well marinated and no artificial flavours used. I would definitely reorder if I ever revisit! The portion is quite large if you're not a big eater.

His Rice in Dried Scallop and Lean Meat Herbal Soup! RM16.80. Yummy as always! Though I think my all time favourite curry fish slices and vegetables pot is still the best! Come on, spicy food conquers all!

You can have a look on what they have to offer here: The Zun Kitchenette

Sorry, too hungry and forgotten to snap more pictures of the restaurant. :( The same thing happened for the shop below.

I don't remember what I did next up till dinner time. :X There's only food in my mind. hahaha

Weekend should be relaxing and we hate to queue or find parking so forget about going to KL! We've been visiting this Yong Tau Foo shop nearby a few times in the span of 2 months. Yummy food but super extremely slow service. All the food below took almost 1 hour to arrive. Is it that hard to prepare yong tau foo?

Missig their brinjal already! Ahhh...brinjal! The chilli was extremely spicy!

(Yong) Tau Foo. Hahahaha Okay, I know. Not funny.

Dad's favourite! I hate everything of it.

Dumplings! Yummy dumplings!

TGIF! Have a great weekend everyone! Still on CNY mood but uncle passed away so not feeling happy at all. :( My deepest condolences to all of them. Stay strong!

Secret Recipe

Finally I have time to blog! Yay! This year's Lunar New Year has been awesome! Good food, good company and not boring! haha My uncle was here for a week to celebrate with us and it is always fun to have people close to us to share the joy. Mom's been very tired from doing housework to entertaining guests so we decided to head out and have something simple.

We headed out to the nearest mall, Aeon Cheras Selatan. We settled for Secret Recipe because I was craving or spicy food and it's true that you cannot take away the Malaysian in me. hehe

Dad and Uncle's Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup

Mom's Chicken Parmigiana. I had to finish half on top of finishing my tom yum because mom couldn't finish it. Happy and warm tummy. ^_^

My Tom Yum Koong! Happy with the spiciness.

I was coughing so I had to order hot chocolate. Please disregard why I ordered spicy food. For some reason. I still love Old Town's hot chocolate!

Another selca before going out! ^~^

Going back to work tomorrow! Not looking forward to it. ahhhh Oh well, life has to go on.

Coffee Stain by Joseph.

I was doing some last minute shopping over the weekend with Mr.L. I really appreciate how Mr.L could wait for me for hours shopping for clothes and stuffs. +1! He has very good eye for fashion and colour so he helped out quite a lot! So bonus boyfriend points again!

After a long walk, taking off and wearing my clothes a million times, I felt tired. I was thinking of getting a cup of coffee from my regular coffee place but while shopping, I saw a nicely furnished coffee kiosk has been set up at Parkamaya, Fahrenheit 88. I'm such a sucker for chic places!

The place is call Coffee Stain by Joseph! I've seen one in Publika but didn't get to try because I was in a rush.

The ordering counter. Menu board. Cute yellow lamps!

Cake display! Look at all those yummy cakes! Look at how organized and clean they are! *ocd*  I also love how they wrote the price using a white marker. So cute!

I was thinking of getting a latte machiato and the nice lady told me that they are having a lunar new year promotion which comes with a Raspberry Cake! RM16.90. I was actually very full from lunch but got it anyway because it looked so yummy! Indeed it was. Noooo, why didn't I have it again just now. :(

My Latte Machiato! I'm a Starbucks regular but Coffee Stain could be my new place! Yes, their coffee is that good and underrated! Go have a cup of your favourite and you'll believe me. Oh, don't you just love the fuku/ good fortune coffee art on top? :)

Mr.L's Cappuccino! Cute and neat heart shaped coffee art made by Masa-san the barista! It tasted really good too.

Maybe some brown sugar for you? If you don't like your coffee unsweetened.

Mr.L happily enjoying his cappuccino. Look at that unprepared face! hahahahahahaha

Hello, it's me, obviously. I look so tired here but it was a happy day. :)

Modestos Embassy View, Jalan Ampang (Now Closed)

So it is that time of the year again where we attend our company dinner. Thank goodness it was the night before a holiday if not I might not make it to work the day after. hahaha Joking!

So this year is set at Modesto's Embassy View Ampang. I've never heard of this restaurant before therefore was looking forward to what they have to offer.

The exterior of the restaurant. It is mainly divided into 3 sections. The section in red is their lounge area where you can have a drink with your friends and have some snacks. The blue fluorescent section is their bar area where you can order your specialized mojito from the bartender. The indoor dining area where we had our dinner is located exactly behind the bar counter.

The interior upon stepping into the dining area.

Our table setting.

Their menu. Stared for so long trying to guess what was written on the cover but failed. Not sure if eyesight sucks or they suck at getting it printed.

Complimentary Chips and Dip upon arrival. They should put more effort in the presentation. Bet they didn't expect it is going to stuck on the internet forever. hahaha

My Iced Cappuccino. Dare devil drinking coffee at 9pm.

We were waiting for other colleagues who were in a meeting but couldn't stand the hunger so ordered this.
Gambero Marinto Con Verdure Alla Griglia Allo Zafferano (Marinated Tiger Prawns with grilled vegetables served with Saffron sauce). RM21. The best dish for the night. It beats the main dish! I'd order it again if I ever revisit. :)

Main. Trancia Di Cod (Cod Fish served with Pesto Potatoes and Sun Dried Tomatoes). RM58. I actually didn't enjoy this dish very much because I felt cheated. Those are definitely not sun dried tomatoes! I eat sundried tomatoes weekly like it's a routine! No joke! The cod fish was smooth in texture and well marinated. I have to give them props for the potatoes. They were yummy! As for the broccoli, a little bit more seasoning will improve its taste.

Parking: Embassy View (Free), Jockey (RM5)

Although many colleagues couldn't make it but still have a few to chat and have a laugh. It makes the night alright. :) Thanks to my colleague who willingly fetch us home although it was late!

Caffeine is slowly wearing off after a jug of water. Good night! Spring cleaning tomorrow!
